New In On The Bookshelf

Books books books. I have books on my bookshelf, on my windowsill, on my dress, next to my bed and even under my bed. Books are quite literally taking over my life. Being the book worm that I am I can’t resist Waterstones’s ‘buy one get one half price’ deal, I’ll make ANY excuse to pick up a second book haha. So I figured I’d do a new little series on the blog where I talk about all the new books I’ve picked up over the last couple of weeks, brace yourself guys ?

One of the books I’ve picked up is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern  and what a beautiful version it is. Like 65% of the books I read, I’d seen this on Bookstagram and having finished the Caraval series by Stephanie Gerber I was in the mood for a circus themed book. I managed to pick up the Waterstones exclusive version, which you can check out here.

I also managed to get ahold of Morgenstern’s second book ‘The Starless Sea‘ from my Illumicrate book subscription box, if you missed out on this version keep an out on their social media as they sometimes have spare copies for sale! There’s also still some signed Waterstones copies available here.

I’ve been a little hesitant about whether I should add this book due to the recent events on book twitter about the authors previous fan fiction. I won’t mention it here but a quick google should give you the answers. I did purchase this book a couple of months ago but it is Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir from Illumicrate. I remember seeing this all over twitter, and I’ll be honest.. I’ll still probably read it!

I went to my local library’s book fair,  without the intention of buying anything (looool) and walked away with this stunning edition of the Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith for five pounds!! I have only ever watched the films so I’m going to try and read this and see how it pans out.

101 dalmatians 101 dalmatians
